Beatriz Ruibal
Beatriz Ruibal is a visual artist and filmaker. She has earned a place of distinction among the artists of her generation thanks to the intimate quality of her work and her attention to everyday details, inviting spectators to sink into an introspective moment of stillness.
Ruibal has received a number of awards and grants for her artistic work, 2016 Artist Residency at the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome. She has published her book ‘MADRE’. It was selected from the shortlist of The Best Photography Book of the Year at PHotoEspaña 2015, Athens Photo Festival 2015 (Greece), 2013 Grant AlNorte (Spain ).
Her videoartworks won awards at several international film festivals as International Short Film Festival. Nijmegen (Netherlands), TIFF, Tirana (Albania) o Venice Experimental Cinema (Italy) among others. Her works have been shown in numerous national and International Art Centers such as: Matadero (Spain) the Real Botanic Garden, Official Selection PHotoESPAÑA 2014 (Spain); Casa Encendida (Spain); LABoral (Spain); MAC (A Coruña, Spain), CCEMiami ( EEUU), Royal Academy of Spain in Rome, CCMEX (Mexico); National Museum of Fine Arts (Havana, Cuba); Ars Aevi, (Bosnia).
